Write, reply to and send email

You write email from the All mail tab under Inbox, either as a new message or as a reply inside a thread. Mesy sends through the Gmail or Outlook account you connected, or through a shared mailbox you have send access to.

The compose panel floats in the corner and stays open while you move around Mesy. To write a new email:

  1. In All mail, click Compose in the header.
  2. In the New Message panel, type an address in To and press Enter, a comma or Tab to add it. Mesy suggests people from your mail history and from person or organisation records that hold an email address.
  3. Click Cc/Bcc if you need those fields.
  4. Type a Subject and your message.
  5. Click Send. Mesy shows Email sent.

Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter sends; Esc discards. Send stays unavailable until there is at least one recipient, and a message can carry at most 25 addresses across To, Cc and Bcc. Mesy allows 20 sends a minute per person.

The panel says Draft not saved: the text lives only in this window, so closing it or reloading loses the draft. Minimize shrinks the panel to a pill you can restore later.

Only one draft can be open at a time. If you try to open a second, Mesy tells you to send or discard the first. If no account is connected, the Compose button shows a message asking you to connect Gmail or Outlook.

When the first recipient matches a person record, a card beside the panel shows that record. It lists Open deal, Stage, Last activity and the latest note.

Open a thread, expand a message, and click Reply, Reply all or Forward. The reply panel opens under the message with the subject prefixed Re: or Fwd:. Reply all fills in everyone except you; Forward leaves To empty and quotes the original under a forwarded-message header. Click the line starting with On to show or hide the quoted text. Press r with a thread selected to open a reply to its latest message.

Go to Settings, then Profile, and find the Email Signature section. Type your signature, tick Append signature to new emails, and click Save Signature. Mesy adds the signature at the end of every new message and reply. It leaves the signature out when you send as a shared mailbox.

Click Template in the compose toolbar, search, and pick a template to fill in the subject and body. Merge fields such as {{first_name}} resolve when you opened the panel from a record; if one can’t be resolved, Mesy warns you which. Manage templates opens Admin, Email Templates, where managers and admins create templates with a Name, Category, Subject and Body.

Click AI Draft, describe what the email should say, and click Generate. Mesy fills the subject and body, which you can edit. Once the body holds text, the button reads AI Refine and asks how the draft should change. In a reply with an empty body, AI Draft writes a reply from the original message straight away. You still click Send yourself.

When you can send as more than one identity, a From picker appears at the top of a new message. It lists your own accounts and every shared mailbox you may send as. Admins can send as any shared mailbox. Other members need an admin to tick them on the mailbox card in Admin, Workspace Channels, under Anyone ticked here can send mail as.

A reply to a shared-mailbox thread always goes out as that mailbox. The panel says Replying as with the address, and you can’t change it. Members without send access see no Reply button on those threads, and Forward isn’t offered on shared mail.
