Telegram notifications and digests
Checked against the app on
Once you pair your Telegram with Mesy, your Mesy notifications also arrive in Telegram. Pairing means connecting your own Telegram to Mesy once, using a short code. Mesy can also send you a short digest each morning.
Anyone on your team can set this up for themselves, once your admin has connected your business’s Telegram bot. To pair, follow Connect Telegram.
Only Telegram gets notifications and digests. Mesy on WhatsApp and Mesy on Teams answer your messages but don’t send notifications.
Read a notification in Telegram
Section titled “Read a notification in Telegram”Each notification arrives as a message from your business’s Mesy bot. The title is in bold, with any detail underneath.
Some notifications are about a record. A record is one entry in Mesy, such as one customer or one deal. For these, the message also names the record. It shows the record’s stage and value, when it has them. A stage is one step in your pipeline, the steps a deal moves through from first contact to done. You only see these lines for a record you’re allowed to see in Mesy.
Buttons under the message let you act on it:
| Button | When it appears | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Mark Read | on every notification | marks the notification read |
| Open in Mesy | on a new deal, a deal stage change, or a note on your record | opens the record in a Mesy window without leaving Telegram |
| Show details | on a notification about a record | replies with the record’s filled-in fields |
| Show pipeline | when the record is in a pipeline | sends the same summary as /pipeline |
| My tasks | on a task notification | sends the same list as /tasks |
Talk to Mesy on Telegram explains /pipeline, /tasks and the other commands.
None of these buttons changes a record. To edit the record, open Mesy on the web.
Mark a notification read
Section titled “Mark a notification read”Tap Mark Read under the message. Telegram briefly shows “Marked as read”. The message then ends with “✓ Read” and its buttons disappear. It’s also marked read under the bell in Mesy.
See more about the record
Section titled “See more about the record”Tap Show details. Mesy replies with up to 25 of the record’s filled-in fields, apart from links to other records. If there are more, the reply ends with a line such as “…and 4 more fields in Mesy”.
The reply has two more buttons. Timeline shows the record’s latest history. Tasks shows the record’s open tasks.
Choose which notifications reach Telegram
Section titled “Choose which notifications reach Telegram”To stop one kind of notification reaching Telegram, while still getting it in Mesy:
- Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar to open Settings.
- Click the Notifications tab.
- Find the row, for example Task assigned.
- Untick its box in the Telegram column. Mesy saves the change straight away.
You now get task assignments in Mesy only. Your profile, appearance and notification settings explains what each row means.
Once you pair Telegram, you also see an AI & system alerts group. These alerts always show in Mesy, so their In-app cell reads Always on. You can still untick them in the Telegram column.
Some notifications have no row: messages from a workflow’s Send a notification step, the alert that a workflow has paused itself, and the alert that your two-factor authentication was reset. A workflow is a rule your team sets up to do routine work for you. To stop these in Telegram, ask Mesy AI (the AI you chat with in Mesy), for example “Stop sending workflow notifications to Telegram”. Or mute Telegram.
Mute Telegram notifications
Section titled “Mute Telegram notifications”Muting stops every notification going to Telegram. They still arrive in Mesy.
To mute from Mesy:
- Go to Settings › Notifications.
- Untick the box next to Telegram in the column heading. Every Telegram box below it greys out.
Tick it again to turn Telegram back on.
To mute from Telegram, send /mute to the Mesy bot. It replies “Telegram notifications muted.” Send /unmute to turn it back on, and it replies “Telegram notifications unmuted.”
Both ways change the same setting, so muting in Telegram also unticks the box in Mesy.
Get a morning digest
Section titled “Get a morning digest”The digest is a short summary of your day in Mesy. Send /digest to the Mesy bot to get today’s digest straight away.
To get it every morning:
- Open your chat with the Mesy bot in Telegram.
- Send
/digest on. The bot replies “Morning digest on. I’ll send it daily at 8am SGT when there’s something to report. /digest off to stop.”
On a morning with nothing to report, Mesy doesn’t send one. These count as news:
- a task assigned to you that’s overdue
- an open deal nobody has updated for 14 days or more
- a record that moved to a new stage in the last 7 days, such as a deal
- a notification you haven’t read yet, other than an earlier digest
The digest also counts the people, companies and deals in your business. If your deals have a value, it shows the total for open deals and for won deals. Each list shows up to five items. The list of quiet deals (not updated for 14 days) covers everyone’s deals. The list of stage changes covers everyone’s records. Both include ones you don’t own.
The stale deals heading uses your business’s own name for deals. So “Stale Deals” might read “Stale Listings” in yours.
The morning digest also appears under the bell in Mesy, as “Your morning digest”.
If your business limits who sees which records, the digest counts only records you can see. Your admin can change this in Admin › Organization. Under Sharing behavior, it’s the Telegram digest respects visibility switch. When that switch is off, the digest, /pipeline and the Show pipeline button count every record in your business.
Stop the morning digest
Section titled “Stop the morning digest”Send /digest off. The bot replies “Morning digest off. /digest still works anytime.” Muting Telegram also stops the morning message, but the copy in Mesy still arrives.
Unpairing Telegram doesn’t stop the digest. It keeps arriving under the bell in Mesy. Send /digest off before you unpair.
If something doesn’t work
Section titled “If something doesn’t work”- No Telegram column on the Notifications tab: pair Telegram first. Until then, the tab shows a Link Telegram in Integrations link.
- A row’s Telegram box is greyed out: tick that row’s In-app box, or tick the Telegram box in the column heading.
- No notifications in Telegram at all: check whether you’ve muted Telegram. Send
/unmuteto the bot to be sure. - “Couldn’t find that notification” after you tap Mark Read: the notification no longer exists in Mesy.
- “Couldn’t find that record” after you tap Show details: the record was deleted, or you can no longer see it.
- No digest this morning: there was nothing to report, or Telegram is muted. Send
/digestto see today’s digest now. - The bot replies with a “Usage” message after
/digest: you typed something else after the command. Send/digest,/digest onor/digest offon its own.
