Connect a calendar and manage events
Mesy shows your Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar events together on the Calendar page in the sidebar. Create and reschedule events there, and link a meeting to a contact, company or deal.
Connect Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar
Section titled “Connect Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar”Each member connects their own calendar. To connect the first one:
- Open Calendar in the sidebar.
- Click Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar under Connect a Calendar.
- Sign in with the provider and allow access.
- You return to Mesy and a Google Calendar connected (or Outlook Calendar connected) message pops up.
To add the second provider later, click its row under My Calendars and sign in the same way. The Integrations tab in Settings also connects, syncs or disconnects either calendar; each card there has Sync Now and Disconnect. Disconnecting removes the synced events from Mesy.
Read the calendar
Section titled “Read the calendar”The My Calendars list has a row for Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar and Tasks. Tick or untick a row to show or hide it. On a phone the list is hidden and the same toggles sit in the header. A row tagged Connect or Reconnect has no working connection, and clicking it starts the sign-in.
Switch between Day, Week and Month, step with the arrows, or press Today.
Mesy syncs when you open the page and the last sync is over two minutes old. A label such as Synced 5m ago shows when that was. Click Sync to refresh now; a sync within 30 seconds of the previous one is skipped.
Create an event
Section titled “Create an event”To create an event from the toolbar:
- Click New Event, or click or drag an empty slot in the Day or Week view.
- If both calendars are connected, pick Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar under Calendar.
- Type a Summary.
- Set Start and End, or tick All day.
- Add a Location, a Description and any Attendees by email.
- Click Create Event.
- You see Event created and the event on the grid.
Open, edit and delete an event
Section titled “Open, edit and delete an event”Click an event to open its panel. It shows the time, the location, the Organizer, the Attendees with their reply status, and a Join video call link where there is one.
You may edit or delete an event you created in Mesy, one with no organiser, or one organised by the account you connected. On Outlook, an event your calendar marks you as organiser of also counts. For any other invitation the pencil and bin icons (Edit event and Delete event) don’t appear, and you change it in the organiser’s calendar instead.
To edit, click the pencil icon, change the fields and click Save Changes. Google or Outlook then emails the attendees about the change. To delete, click the bin icon and confirm with Delete Event.
Change one occurrence of a repeating event
Section titled “Change one occurrence of a repeating event”Mesy edits repeating events one occurrence at a time. The panel shows Repeating event. Changes here apply to this occurrence only. Editing, moving or deleting touches that occurrence and leaves the rest of the series alone. To change the whole series, open it in Google Calendar or Outlook.
Move or resize an event by dragging
Section titled “Move or resize an event by dragging”In the Day and Week views, drag an event to a new time or day, or drag its bottom edge to change its length. Both snap to 15-minute steps. In the Month view, drag an event to another day.
If the event has attendees, Mesy asks Reschedule this event? first. For a Google event you can untick the notify option and click Reschedule silently; Outlook always notifies attendees. If the event changed in the provider since your last sync, the move fails with Event changed in Google. Calendar refreshed and the event snaps back.
Link an event to a record
Section titled “Link an event to a record”Mesy links meetings to records in two ways. On each sync it matches the attendee and organiser emails against the email field of your records. Every match gets an auto link; your own address is skipped. To link a record by hand:
- Open the event.
- Click Link record under Linked records.
- Pick the record.
- The record appears as a chip in the panel.
Hover a chip and click its cross to unlink. An auto link comes back on the next sync while the attendee’s email still matches. On the record, the Meetings tab lists the linked events under Upcoming and Past; clicking one opens it on the calendar. Dragging an event’s title attaches it to the AI command bar, not to a record.
