Talk to Mesy in Microsoft Teams

Chat with Mesy AI, the AI built into Mesy, from Microsoft Teams. Ask about your customers and deals, and confirm changes without leaving Teams. Anyone on your team can use it, and there’s nothing for your Mesy admin to set up.

Pair your Teams account

Pairing links your Teams account to your Mesy account. You only do it once.

1. Open Mesy AI (the Chat item in the sidebar).
2. Click the Teams tab.
3. Click Generate code. A pairing code appears with a timer. It works once and lasts 5 minutes.
4. Click Open in Teams. Teams opens a chat with Mesy, with the code already typed in.
5. In Teams, send the message. Mesy replies “You’re connected to Mesy as Tan Wei Ling”, with your own name. The Teams tab now shows Paired as with your Teams name.

If Teams doesn’t open, click the copy button next to the code. Then send the code to Mesy in Teams yourself.

Already use Outlook mail or Outlook Calendar with Mesy, on the same Microsoft account as Teams? Then you may not need a code. If you already have a chat with Mesy in Teams, send Mesy any message there. Mesy replies “You’re connected to Mesy as…” with your name. It doesn’t answer that first message, so send your question again. If Mesy asks you to pair instead, use a code.

To check you’re paired later, go to Settings › Integrations and look at the Teams card.

To use a different Teams account, pair it the same way. Mesy then answers only the new account.

Ask Mesy a question or make a change

Type a message to Mesy as you would to a colleague. For example, “Which deals are in Negotiation?” or “What’s the latest on the Tampines quote?” Mesy looks it up in your records and replies in the chat. A record is one entry in Mesy, such as one customer, one company or one deal. Mesy only sees what you can see when you sign in to Mesy.

When you ask for a change, your admin’s AI settings decide what happens. Mesy makes the change straight away, sends a confirm card first, or tells you it isn’t allowed. A new workspace starts at Read-only, where Mesy can’t change records from a chat app. A confirm card is headed “Confirm before this runs” and lists what will change. Nothing changes until you click ✓ Confirm. Set up the AI explains these settings. Approve AI actions from a chat app covers the rest, including undo.

Mesy doesn’t send email from Teams. When it writes an email for you, it sends a message headed “📧 Draft ready for your review” with the recipient and subject. The message links to the Approvals page in Mesy, where you read the email and send it.

Send your questions as text. Mesy on Teams doesn’t read photos, files or voice messages. To send Mesy a business card or a file, use Mesy on WhatsApp or Mesy on Telegram.

If you don’t message Mesy for more than 6 hours, your next message starts a new conversation. Mesy tells you when this happens, for example “New conversation. Your last one was 7 hours ago.”

Mesy on Teams only replies to you. It doesn’t send you reminders or a daily summary. Mesy on Telegram can, as Notifications and digests explains.

See your Teams chat in Mesy

The Teams tab of Mesy AI shows your Teams chat with Mesy, but you can’t reply from it. It works like the Telegram tab, as Read your Telegram chats on the web explains.

Disconnect your Teams account

1. Open the Teams tab of Mesy AI.
2. Click Disconnect. The tab shows Generate code again, so you can pair later.

Mesy stops answering your Teams account. If Outlook mail or Outlook Calendar uses the same Microsoft account, your next Teams message to Mesy pairs you again. To stop that, also disconnect the Outlook and Outlook Calendar cards in Settings › Integrations. The same happens if you message Mesy from an old Teams account after you pair a new one.

If something doesn’t work

• There’s no Teams tab in Mesy AI. Mesy on Teams isn’t available yet, and your admin can’t switch it on. In Settings › Integrations, the Teams card says “Mesy’s Teams assistant is not set up on this server yet.” Email Mesy support at support@mesy.ai.
• Mesy replies “That code is not valid or has expired.” The code was already used, has expired (codes last 5 minutes), or you generated a newer one since. Click Generate code for a new one and send that.
• Mesy replies “This Teams account is already paired to another Mesy account.” Someone else paired this Teams account. They need to disconnect it on their Teams tab first. Your code is used up, so generate a new one before you try again.
• Mesy replies “This is Mesy’s assistant. To use it, pair your Mesy account…”. Your Teams account isn’t paired yet. Follow the pairing steps above.
• Mesy doesn’t reply, and you’re not paired. Mesy sends the pairing message once an hour and ignores everything else. Pair with a code.
• Mesy doesn’t reply to your code. You sent more than 5 codes in 5 minutes. Wait 5 minutes, then generate and send a new code.
• Mesy doesn’t reply to a photo or file. Send your question as text.
• Mesy replies that you’re sending messages too fast. It handles up to 30 a minute. Wait a moment and try again.
• Mesy replies that a monthly AI usage limit is reached, either your business’s or your own. Ask your admin.
• Mesy replies “The assistant is temporarily unavailable”. Wait a moment and send your message again.
• Mesy replies “This workspace is currently unavailable.” Your Mesy account or your business’s account is paused. Ask your admin.
