Create your account and workspace

Checked against the app on

Create a Mesy workspace for your business, or join your team’s workspace from an invitation. After that, sign in each day, or reset a password you’ve forgotten.

A workspace is your business’s own private area in Mesy. Other businesses on Mesy can’t see into it.

The person who creates a workspace becomes its admin. If your team already uses Mesy, ask your admin for an invitation instead.

You can’t create a workspace with a Google or Microsoft account. Use an email and password.

To create a workspace:

  1. Go to app.mesy.ai/register.

If the page shows “Enter your access code”, type the code the Mesy team gave you under Access code. Click Continue. The form opens with “Access code verified” above Email.

  2. Type your name under Name.

  3. Type your company name under Workspace.

  4. Pick a Template, or keep General CRM if you’re not sure (see Choose a template).

  5. Enter your Email.

  6. Enter a Password (see Pick a password).

  7. Type the password again under Confirm password.

  8. Read the short note on how Mesy’s AI features send your workspace content to outside AI services.

  9. Tick I have read and accept the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.

  10. Tick Send me product news and tips by email if you want those emails. You can unsubscribe at any time.

  11. Click Create workspace. Mesy signs you in and opens the welcome screen.

The welcome screen helps you add your first records and invite your team. A record is one entry in Mesy, such as one customer, one company or one deal. See Set up your workspace.

A template sets up your first record types. A record type is a kind of record, such as Contacts, Companies or Deals. Each one gets its own list in the sidebar.

Each template card names the record types it creates. General CRM is already selected. It gives you contacts, companies and deals with a sales pipeline. Other cards cover recruitment, real estate, consulting, insurance, school admissions and room leasing (Spaces leasing). Blank / Custom starts with no record types.

School admissions also adds a web form called “Admissions enquiry” and two workflows, “Admissions follow-up” and “Tour reminder”. A workflow is a rule that does routine work for you. All three start switched off.

You can add record types from other templates later. See Design your data.

A password needs at least 8 characters. It must include a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number and a symbol.

As you type, a meter under the box shows how strong your password is, from “Weak” to “Strong”. A password that meets every rule reads “Good”. It reads “Strong” once it has 12 or more characters.

Your admin sends you an invitation link. An invitation link works for 7 days. (Admins: see Invite members and set roles.)

The link opens a page headed “You’ve been invited”. It shows the workspace, who invited you and your role (Admin, Manager or Member).

To join:

  1. Type your name in the Your name box.
  2. Type your email in the Email box. If the invitation names your address, it’s already filled in and you can’t change it.
  3. Enter a password in the Password (min 8 characters) box. It follows the same rules as Pick a password.
  4. Type it again in the Confirm password box.
  5. Tick I have read and accept the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.
  6. Tick Send me product news and tips by email if you want those emails.
  7. Click Join workspace. Mesy signs you in and opens the Dashboard.

To join with Google or Microsoft instead, tick I have read and accept the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service. Then click Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft. The two buttons stay greyed out until the box is ticked.

This works only if the invitation names your email address. Your Google or Microsoft account must use that same address. Mesy uses the name on your Google or Microsoft account.

To sign in:

  1. Go to app.mesy.ai/login.
  2. Enter your Email and Password.
  3. Click Sign In. Mesy opens the Dashboard.

To sign in without a password, click Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft. If your browser supports passkeys, you also see Sign in with a passkey. A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face or device PIN instead of a password. A passkey works only after you add one while signed in. See Add a passkey.

Google and Microsoft only work once they’re linked to your account. Joining from an invitation links one for you. To link one later, see Link Google or Microsoft sign-in.

Two-factor authentication adds a second check after you sign in with a password, Google or Microsoft. If you’ve turned it on, Mesy asks for a code from your authenticator app, a recovery code (a backup code you saved) or your passkey. See Two-factor and passkeys for this step, and for what to do if your admin requires it.

To get a reset link:

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot password?.
  2. Enter your Email.
  3. Click Send reset link. Mesy shows “If an account exists with that email, we’ve sent a reset link. Check your inbox.”

The link in the email works for 30 minutes. Only the newest link works: asking again cancels any earlier one.

To set a new password:

  1. Open the link from the email. Mesy shows “Set a new password”.
  2. Enter a New password.
  3. Type it again under Confirm password.
  4. If you use two-factor authentication, enter a code under Two-factor code. Use a code from your authenticator app, or one of your recovery codes (the backup codes you saved when you set it up). If your second check is a passkey, the page says “Your browser will ask for your passkey to confirm it’s you.” instead.
  5. Click Set password & sign in. If you use a passkey, your browser asks for it now. Mesy signs you in and opens the Dashboard.
  • “Invalid credentials” when you sign in means the email or password is wrong. Check them, or reset your password.
  • “Too many requests. Try again later.” means there were too many attempts in a short time, often too many wrong passwords for that email. Wait up to 15 minutes, or reset your password.
  • “Account disabled” means your admin has turned off your account. Ask your admin.
  • “Link expired” when you open a reset link means the link is older than 30 minutes, already used, or replaced by a newer link. Click Request a new link.
  • “Invalid access code” or a similar message means the code is mistyped, already used, cancelled or expired. Check the code, or ask the Mesy team for a new one.
  • “Invitation not found”, “Invitation expired” or “Invitation already used” on an invitation link means you need a new one from your admin. Click Go to login to leave the page.
  • “Email already registered” means that email already has a Mesy account. One email address can belong to only one account. On the create-workspace page, sign in instead, or reset your password. On an invitation, ask your admin to invite a different address.
  • “Email does not match invitation” means your Google or Microsoft account uses a different email from the one invited. Join with the password form, or ask your admin to invite that address.
  • “This invitation must be accepted with a password” means the invitation isn’t tied to one email address. Join with the password form instead.
  • “No Mesy account is linked to this sign-in. Ask your administrator for an invite.” means that Google or Microsoft account isn’t linked to any Mesy account. Ask your admin for an invitation.
  • “An account with this email already exists. Sign in with your password, then link this sign-in method under Settings.” means your Google or Microsoft account isn’t linked yet. Sign in with your password and link it.
  • If you cancel on the Google or Microsoft page, Mesy shows “Sign-in was cancelled or could not be completed.” Click Return to sign in to try again. If you were joining from an invitation, open the invitation link again instead.
