Find your way around Mesy
You reach everything in Mesy from the sidebar, the search palette or the notification panel.
The sidebar
Section titled “The sidebar”The sidebar shows the Mesy mark and your workspace name at the top, with the notification bell beside them, then a Search… box. Below that, the entries sit in three groups separated by lines. Drag an entry up or down within its group, and Mesy remembers the order. Drag the sidebar’s edge to set its width between 160 and 320 pixels. Drag it under 120 pixels and it collapses to icons only; hovering an icon shows its name.
The first group is your day-to-day work:
- Dashboard opens your home page. The Chat section and the dashboard grid are two parts of one scrolling page.
- Spaces opens your spaces.
- One row per record type, named in the plural: Contacts, Companies, Deals and whatever else your workspace defines. Each opens that type’s list.
- Tasks opens your tasks and shows a red count of your overdue ones.
- Reports opens reports.
- Chat scrolls the home page to the AI co-pilot.
The second group is your channels. Inbox opens the triage page, headed Inbox, which gathers what needs your attention. The arrow beside it expands the channel rows: All mail, Teams and WhatsApp. Workspaces with the social channels add-on also see Messenger and Instagram; without it those rows don’t appear at all. Calendar sits below the Inbox rows and opens your merged calendar.
The third group is the AI and automation pages: Approvals, Workflows and Files. Approvals shows a count of AI work waiting on you, and Files a count of captures waiting for review.
The bottom links
Section titled “The bottom links”The links at the foot of the sidebar depend on your role:
- Business Profile is visible to everyone. Only admins can edit it.
- Activity & Audit appears for managers and admins and shows the whole workspace. Members see My Activity instead, showing their own feed.
- Admin appears for admins. Managers see Manager, which opens the same page with fewer tabs. Members don’t see this link.
- Your own name opens Settings. The red sign-out icon beside it signs you out.
Search and open anything with the keyboard
Section titled “Search and open anything with the keyboard”Press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K elsewhere, or click Search… in the sidebar, to open the search palette. With nothing typed it shows Recent items, Pages, a few Actions such as Create new task and Import CSV, and an Ask AI anything… row. As you type, results group into Pages, Records, Emails, Tasks, Calendar and Actions. Use the arrow keys to move, Enter to open the highlighted row, and Escape to close. Press the right arrow on a record for its actions: Open, New task, Copy link and, for a person with an email address, Compose email.
The palette never sends your text to the AI on its own. Press Tab, or choose the Ask AI row, to hand what you typed to the co-pilot. Managers and admins also get an Admin page row.
On most pages an Ask Mesy anything… pill floats near the bottom of the screen and opens the co-pilot panel. ⌘J (Ctrl+J) opens the chat from anywhere and, from the Chat section, tucks it back into its panel.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”The bell at the top of the sidebar shows a red count of unread notifications, capped at 9+. Click it to open a panel with three tabs: Notifications, AI Suggestions (with a count of pending AI items) and What’s New. On the Notifications tab you can filter by All, Deals, Tasks or Activity, switch between all and unread, and click Mark all read.
On a phone
Section titled “On a phone”Below 768 pixels wide, the sidebar becomes a drawer. A top bar shows a menu button, the Mesy mark with your workspace name, and a search button that opens the same palette. A bottom bar holds Dashboard, Inbox, Calendar and Chat, plus More, which opens the drawer for everything else, including your record types, Admin and Settings.
