Lay records out side by side in a Space

Spaces lets you put several views of your data on one screen. A list of contacts can sit beside a deal board, with the selected record and your tasks alongside. Open it from Spaces in the sidebar.

Add your first pane

A Space is a grid of panes. The strip at the top of the page, labelled Drag to add, holds one chip per object type in your workspace. A Tasks chip sits under Tools. When you open Spaces for the first time it shows a list of your first object type. If you’ve closed every pane, the page shows Build your space with a dashed area.

To fill an empty Space:

1. Drag an object type chip from the strip into the dashed area.
2. Drop it. The page shows a list pane for that type.

Split the screen

Each new chip you drop on an existing pane either replaces it or splits it. While you drag, a highlight shows where the drop lands.

To add a pane beside another:

1. Drag a chip from the strip over an existing pane.
2. Move towards the left, right, top or bottom edge until the highlight covers that half of the pane.
3. Drop the chip. The pane splits and the new pane takes that half.

Dropping in the middle of a pane replaces its contents with the new type instead of splitting.

Change what a pane shows

A record pane has a header with the type name, the record count, and view buttons. List shows a table you can edit in place and add rows to. Board appears only for types with a pipeline and lets you drag records between stages. Stats shows a Total, and for pipeline types a By stage count. When the pipeline has a value field it adds Open (loaded) and Won (loaded), summed over the first 200 records the pane loaded.

In List view, use the column settings to choose which columns show.

Click a row in a list, or a card on a board. Mesy opens that record in a pane to the right of the list. Clicking another row swaps the pinned record rather than opening a second pane. The pinned pane behaves like the record detail panel, so you can edit fields there. If the record is deleted, the pane reads This record no longer exists.

The Show notes & activity button on a list pane opens a Notes & Activity column that follows the same selection. Until you pick a row it reads Select a record in the linked list to see its notes and activity.

The Tasks pane has three scopes: Mine, Overdue and All. Tick a task to complete it. When nothing matches, the pane reads No tasks.

Move, resize and close panes

Every pane header starts with a drag handle labelled Move pane. Drag it onto the middle of another pane to swap the two, or onto an edge to move the pane there.

To resize two neighbouring panes, drag the divider between them. Only those two panes change size; the rest of the grid keeps its shape.

Use Close pane in a pane’s header to remove it. Its neighbour takes the space.

Who sees your Space

A Space is personal. Mesy saves the layout in your browser for the workspace you’re in, so it comes back when you return on the same device and browser. Teammates never see it, and it doesn’t follow you to another computer. Every pane shows live data, so the records you see in it are the same ones you can see elsewhere in Mesy.

If an admin deletes an object type, any pane showing that type disappears from your layout the next time it loads.

On a phone or a narrow window, the panes stack vertically and can’t be resized or rearranged. An empty Space there reads Open Spaces on a larger screen to build a multi-pane layout.
