Read and reply to Microsoft Teams chats

Mesy shows your Microsoft Teams chats in the Teams tab under Inbox, where you can read them and send replies. Anything Teams can do that Mesy can’t, such as calls, reactions or edits, is one click away through Open in Teams.

Connect Teams

Each person connects their own Teams account. Your IT admin may first need to approve Mesy in Microsoft Entra ID. To connect:

1. Open Settings, click Integrations, and find the Microsoft Teams card.
2. If your organisation needs admin consent, click Copy admin consent link and send the link to your IT admin.
3. Click Connect Teams and sign in with Microsoft.
4. Back on the card, check that your name shows with the status active.

You can also click Connect Teams on the empty Teams tab. If Microsoft refuses because consent is missing, the tab shows Admin Consent Required with a Try Again button. Disconnect on the Settings card removes the synced chats from Mesy after you confirm.

Find a chat

The tab header shows your name and organisation, the Mesy Teams strip, Open in Teams and Sync chats. The left rail groups chats under Chats and Meetings; click a heading to collapse or expand it. An unread chat shows a dot. Click Search chats to open a Filter chats field that narrows the rail to matching names.

Before the first sync the rail says No chats yet. Click sync to fetch. Sync chats pulls your chat list; Mesy allows one sync every 30 seconds and otherwise tells you a sync ran recently.

Read a chat

Selecting a chat opens it and clears its unread dot. The head shows the name, and Chat for a one-to-one chat or the number of other members for a group. Messages show quoted or forwarded messages above the reply, (edited) where a message was changed, and reaction counts, which you can’t add to from Mesy. An inline image opens a preview when you click it; a shared file opens in a new browser tab.

While a chat is open, Mesy re-syncs it every 5 seconds as long as the browser tab is visible. For new chats, click Sync chats. If a sync fails, a notice explains what happened with a Retry button.

Reply

To send a message in the open chat:

1. Type in the Type a message box at the bottom. Enter sends; Shift+Enter starts a new line.
2. Click Send. Your message appears in the chat straight away.

A message can be up to 10,000 characters. If sending fails, Mesy puts your text back in the box and shows the error.

Hand off to Teams

Open in Teams in the header opens the current chat in the Teams app when it can be addressed, and otherwise opens Teams itself. Mesy tries the desktop app first and falls back to Teams on the web after a short wait.

Use the AI panel

Click Mesy Teams to open the panel headed Mesy AI · Teams. It lists unread chats as Unread in your recent chats and any AI proposals waiting on you, or says All clear in Teams. Ask Mesy opens the co-pilot with a request to catch you up on recent Teams chats and what still needs a reply.
